Director Sarkunam sure has a good sense of humour and he has proved it in Kalavani and in parts of Vaagai Sooda Vaa. He has also put all of it in Naiyaandi, a rural romantic comedy that has Dhanush and Nazriya Nazim in the lead.
The director supposedly wanted to finish the shooting within 50 days and he is happy that he is on schedule. The team is currently shooting in Kumbakonam and a couple of song sequences are pending too, which Sarkunam is looking to shoot in and around Switzerland.
Dhanush plays Chinna Vandu, a small time utensil vendor in Naiyaandi and Nazriya plays Vanaroja, a dental student. Ask Sarkunam about his heroine, he says Nazriya is a perfect mix of Samantha and Nayanthara. While auditioning her for the film, Sarkunam was very sure that she would go places. But now, even he is surprised with her career graph and the craze she has among the male populace. With the film coming to a close, Ghibran’s music can be expected to release any time. Velraj has helmed the camera and TS Suresh has the film in his edit suite.
